Could you tell us more about your journey from being a clinical psychologist to becoming an Energy Healer? What motivated you to make that transition, and how has it influenced your approach to healing?

I was a clinical Psychologist for 15 years. In 2012, I experienced a medical trauma during the birth of my daughter which resulted in the onset of PTSD. Ultimately, this was the catalyst for a deeply healing journey which would come to transform my life in many beautiful ways. I started out in somatic-based psychotherapy. Though it was supportive, I knew there was more healing to be done. After years of seeing various practitioners, I still felt stuck in my trauma. I began trying every form of alternative healing that I could find. Each one seemed to help a bit but as I slowly recovered, I was still missing my spark and suffered greatly with anxiety and worry over my daughter’s well-being.

In 2017, I came across Emotion and Body Code. After only two sessions with a distance practitioner, I instantly knew this was the path for me. It was a game changer for my well-being. I immediately got certified and spent 2018 reevaluating my career. I knew deep down there was something more to offer my clients. Ultimately, I decided to leave the practice of psychology and launched an energy healing business – Essential Healing with Dr. Liz.  It was terrifying but I was in full alignment with my purpose. Since then, I’ve gone on to learn and incorporate a number of different healing modalities and I love every bit of it!

You mentioned that you have a unique approach to help clients activate and integrate their own healing. Could you elaborate on this approach and what makes it distinct from other energy healing methods?

I am certified in 10 different Energy Healing modalities and I combine them to offer a unique experience for each individual. The foundation of this work is muscle testing and uncovering what energetic block is in the way of each client reaching their potential. From there, it depends on the guidance I receive for the client. There may be work within the dimensional realms, Archangel Healings, inner-child healing, aligning the client with Divine truth, love and light or simply discovering specific energetic blocks from this lifetime or past to release.

I love empowering my clients to manage, clear and heal their own energy bodies.  I do this by embodiment practices and teaching specific techniques to move energy. At the core, my belief is that all healing is self-healing. I may be directing the experience or the client may facilitate on their own. Either way, it’s all healing.

How does your background in trauma-informed psychology inform your work as an Energy Healer? Are there specific techniques or insights from psychology that you find particularly valuable in your energy healing practice?

My training and experience working in psychology aids me greatly in healing work!  I am so thankful for that time in my life and the people that I worked with and trained with. The most important thing I learned in those years is that trauma is always an invitation to a greater connection to self and evolution of self. In my sessions, I am often able to see patterns of behaviors or thinking patterns that may have been seeded by trauma and am able to gently bring them to the client’s awareness.

My knowledge on how trauma impacts the nervous system informs how I might approach a trauma trigger or sensitive area for a client.  I also have the experience and skills to be able to assist someone in moving out of a trauma response if needed.

Can you share some success stories or examples of clients who have experienced significant transformations through your approach to energy healing and coaching?

I worked with one woman with trichotillomania. She had tried everything including multiple energy healing modalities to address this problem. During an inner child healing journey, she was able to see and experience a great pain that started this behavior.  After that, she never pulled her hair again.

I have worked with countless individuals with whom have had major improvements in the way their bodies express pain or discomfort.  I have also worked with a number of clients who are now able to live in a relaxed body and no longer suffer from stress and worry.

What are some common challenges or issues that clients seek your help with, and how do you address these challenges using your combined expertise in psychology and energy healing?

I love working with people on their awakening journey.  Oftentimes they don’t understand that this is what’s occurring. They may show up overwhelmed, with over-giving tendencies, relationships falling apart, or health issues.  A common thread I see is a lack of connection with self. Another common theme with my clients is those that have been affected by trauma of some sort. My first goal is to ensure that my clients feel safe and know how to regulate their nervous system.

I then want to assess their goals and desires for our work together.  From there, we begin the energy healing. I work in collaboration with my clients and frequently ask for feedback or redirect them to tune into their own body and sense how they are feeling.

For individuals who are new to energy healing and may have reservations or skepticism, what would you say to help them understand the potential benefits of your approach?

I often see clients that are new to energy healing. I think because of my previous work, they feel more comfortable stepping in. The concept of energy healing is becoming more widely accepted because of the breakthroughs in quantum physics and a shift in the collective awareness of alternative healing options.. Yet, there is still a need to step into trust and faith in the unseen and that can be a lot for some.

If someone is open to receiving, yet skeptical I would suggest that they use their time with me as an experiment. I would ask them how they feel after a session and what changes they observe over a series of sessions.  Their proof will be in their own experience.
