Can you explain your process for connecting with the Tarot cards and accessing intuitive insights?
Before I start reading the cards for the day, I begin by grounding myself to establish a clear mental and emotional state. This often involves meditation and visualization exercises to clear away distractions and connect with my inner intuition. When a client approaches me for a reading, I ask them to focus on their question or the situation they want insights into. As they do that, I shuffle the deck focusing on their question, name, date of birth, and their energy intermingles with the cards.
After the deck is shuffled, I lay out the cards in a spread which could be a traditional spread like the Celtic Cross, or more often, a more specialized one depending on the question. Each position in the spread represents a different aspect of the situation. As I turn over each card, I allow the imagery and symbolism to speak to me intuitively, and I weave together the meanings of the cards to tell a story. I view the Tarot more as a tool for self-reflection and guidance, rather than a predictor of a fixed future. I firmly believe that the future is fluid and to a certain extent, we can shape it with our actions and decisions. The insights come from interpreting the archetypal imagery and symbolism in the context of the client’s unique situation and experiences.
How do you ensure that your readings are unbiased and not influenced by personal beliefs or opinions?
Being aware of one’s biases and personal beliefs is the first step in ensuring they do not color the reading. I always remind myself that I am a channel, not the source of the message. I strive to set aside my preconceived notions and judgments before each reading, so I can fully immerse myself in the energy of the cards and the client. If I find myself making assumptions or forming opinions, I make a conscious effort to bring my focus back to the cards and the client’s questions.
Can you describe a situation where your spiritual guidance had a significant impact on a client’s life?
I once had a client who was feeling extremely stuck in their career. They felt they were in a dead-end job, but they were afraid to take a leap into the unknown. The cards suggested the need for courage and embracing change, symbolized by cards like The Fool and the Eight of Cups. Over several sessions, we explored their fears and possible pathways forward. As I’m also a life coach, I gave the client the tools they needed to combine Tarot’s intuitive messages with practical methods to use, in order to move forward. The client eventually gained the courage to leave their job and pursue a passion project they had always dreamed about but never had the courage to start. They later reported feeling much more fulfilled and happy in their new path.
What steps do you take to maintain ethical boundaries and respect client confidentiality in your practice?
Respecting client confidentiality is of utmost importance in my practice. All readings are private and the details are never disclosed to anyone. Also, I do not offer advice on legal, health, or financial matters, as these are beyond my area of expertise and should be dealt with by relevant professionals. In terms of ethical boundaries, I always ensure that my clients understand that Tarot readings are tools for guidance and personal insight, not definitive predictions of the future. I am also careful not to feed any dependency on readings and encourage my clients to use the Tarot as a tool for self-empowerment, helping them to make their own decisions rather than telling them what to do.
How do you handle skeptical or skeptical clients who may question the validity of Tarot readings or psychic abilities?
I welcome skepticism. In fact, I believe a degree of skepticism is healthy. I usually explain to my clients that they don’t have to believe in anything supernatural to benefit from a Tarot reading. Tarot works as a tool for introspection and can be seen as a visual aid for your subconscious mind. It’s an opportunity to explore different perspectives on a situation.
For those who are open-minded, I encourage them to experience a reading first and see what insights come up. If nothing else, it can be a chance for them to gain a new perspective or think about a problem in a different way.
Can you provide an example of a challenging or complex reading you have encountered and explain how you navigated through it to provide meaningful guidance to the client?
One challenging reading involved a client who was dealing with multiple overlapping issues – career dissatisfaction, relationship troubles, and deep-seated personal insecurities. The cards drawn were likewise complex, with a mixture of Major and Minor Arcana indicating a mix of deep spiritual lessons and more practical day-to-day concerns.
In such situations, it’s important not to rush to conclusions. I took the time to explore each card and its implications fully with the client while keeping the overarching narrative in mind. In this particular instance, we broke the reading down over several sessions, focusing on different aspects of the client’s life each time, but always connecting back to the major themes that the reading had revealed.
This multi-session approach gave the client time to reflect on each part of the reading and provided an opportunity for them to dive deeper into the layers of their situation. It was a slow process, but in the end, the client reported gaining valuable insights into their life and the steps they needed to take to address their challenges.
