Could you share more about what your journey to become a Priestess of the Stars entails and how it aligns with your passion for crystals, meditation, and working in service to the Goddess?
I have known for a long time that I have had a real calling to be in service to Goddess and that I wanted to deepen my connection but I wasn’t sure what that exactly looked like. I volunteer every week at the Goddess Temple in Glastonbury as a Melissa which is a real honour and a privilege. The temple is for the Lady of Avalon. Being a Melissa to the Temple means that I hold space for those who enter. It is a sacred space for meditation, contemplation etc. There are oracle cards that visitors can use, altars with tealights that visitors are welcome to light. It is a reflective space, a space for prayer. All are welcome. I provide smoke blessings for anyone who would like one, comfort for anyone who appears to be in distress etc. (it can be a very emotional experience being in the temple).
There are a number of trainings available including a 3 year training to be a Priestess dedicated to the Lady of Avalon. I knew though that this wasn’t for me, this wasn’t my calling. For a while I thought I was happy and content just being in service at the Temple and doing my own thing in my own way and then I discovered the Silver Spiral training and everything began to fall into place.
Astrology, Goddess, crystals and meditation all seem to work so well together. I have to say that so far, my journey has been incredibly powerful, at times a little overwhelming and also deeply healing. I have no doubt that I am on the right path and I feel so blessed and so lucky to be able to do this. It feels as though everything is coming together perfectly. Every month, at the time the wheel of the Zodiac moves into the new sign, we create a new altar to represent the new astrological sign and the planets that are connected. I also create a crystal grid that I feel fits with the energies. My crystals and meditation will always play a huge part of my life and for me, this training allows me to draw on these and just bring them closer. We do a lot of meditations within the training to meet the Goddesses and Priestesses of the Stars and the Planets. It is such an enriching experience.
As an award-winning Spiritual Life Coach, Crystal Meditation teacher, and Crystal Therapist, how do you incorporate crystals into your coaching and healing practices? What role do crystals play in enhancing the spiritual and energetic experiences of your clients?
Crystals play such an important role in all of my work because they have helped me so much on my own personal journey through my own experiences of two severe breakdowns, exhaustion and grief. Because of that, I will draw them into just about anything and everything that I can.
In my coaching I will always ask my clients what crystals they have available. I never want my clients to feel that they have to spend a fortune buying new crystals. And I am not someone who believes that you have to buy certain crystals for certain things. Crystals don’t have egos. For example, if you have some Rose Quartz but you need some help with manifesting and you don’t have a traditional crystal to help you with that, try working with Rose Quartz. It is the intention that is the key. Crystals don’t have egos. She isn’t going to stomp off in the corner in a huff because you are asking her to do something different. They really want to help us, we just need to let them know in what way we need their help, that I do believe.
They can bring us so much comfort when we need it, or confidence, inner strength, reassurance. They can help us face challenging times, lift our spirits, raise our energies, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
In talking with my clients, I will get to know what their situations are, what they need etc. I am then able to advise them on what they need crystal wise. We always talk intentions and affirmations and I always advise which ones to keep with them, which ones to place in certain places in their home, depending on where they spend the most time. Also, how to look after them, cleansing, charging and connecting.
For clients who choose my silver and gold packages, they receive some distance Rose Ray Reiki which I provide using the most stunning crystal grid that I had created for me by an extremely talented beautiful soul who also made my drum and rattle for me for my healings. The grid is huge and is in the shape of a Goddess with the symbols of the chakras and has the 7 aura lines all around. It is incredibly powerful and works wonderfully for distance healing.
I also offer some mobile healing locally, Crystal healing, Rose Ray Reiki and Goddess Elemental healing, all of which I include crystals. I also offer Full Moon and New Moon Sacred Ceremonies and again I take along crystals to both of these. I think crystals always bring something very special to all my work. They have incredible energy and they always know what my clients need. At the end of the day, I am only the conduit. They are the ones that are doing the heavy lifting. They tell me which ones I need to choose, I just do as I am told.
Teaching Crystal Meditation has been such a joy. I have seen those that come along each week progress and I watch their confidence grow and grow and it fills me with so much pride and happiness for them. They may forget what some of the crystals are but they are beginning to trust their instincts and use the ones they are drawn to at certain times. They tell me the difference it has made to their mental health and wellbeing and that just makes my heart sing. What more can I possibly ask for?
Moonology holds significance in your work and life. Could you elaborate on how you align your practices and teachings with the phases of the moon? How can harnessing the energy of the moon support personal growth and manifestation?
Living in alignment with the moon has been an absolute game changer for me. When I first started to tune into the lunar cycle and fully understand what the differences were, I began to see and understand how my energies changed at different times too. But it was more than that. I started to learn the importance of really following the cycle of the moon and using her different phases for setting intentions and for releasing etc. and now I feel like I am totally in alignment and my life is so much better for it. I plan my whole diary around the phase of the moon and also to some extent the signs of the Zodiac. So for example, I am writing this now whilst we are still in the sign of Gemini, a good sign for communication and writing so hopefully it will all make some kind of sense!
Harnessing the energy of the moon can definitely support personal growth and manifestation. It is a wonderful way to ensure that you build in monthly self-care practices too. For example, At the time of the dark moon, I like to do a simple release and burn ceremony. What do I need to let go of? What no longer serves me? What from the last lunar cycle am I holding on to that I no longer need? Now is the time to make space for new things to come in. So I will light a candle, burn some incense and spend some time reflecting, meditating, clearing, then I will write a list of what I want to let go of and then burn it. It is good to journal afterwards and then take a shower, to really release it, wash it away.
Next day is the New Moon so that is when I will set my intentions for the next month, or longer. I like to think about the focus of that particular moon as well as general intentions. I always create a crystal grid for the new moon too. So again light a candle, burn some incense, meditation, write out my intentions and then create my grid. I also set intentions with a crystal which I bury, giving thanks to Mother Earth.
The next two weeks are all about taking inspired action. What am I going to do to make my intentions come true? What actions do I need to take?
Then comes the full moon. So very much like the dark moon, I will do another release ceremony. Thinking about what I need to let go, what isn’t working, what do I need to forgive myself for etc. I also think about my intentions, what needs to be tweaked, reviewed, revised. What needs changing completely, if anything. So, I will light a candle, burn some incense and spend some time reflecting, meditating, clearing, then I will write a list of what I want to let go of and then burn it. It is good to journal afterwards and then take a shower, to really release it, wash it away.
All of this is self-care. It is also about becoming much more present, tuned in to me. My needs. I am now so self-aware of me/myself.
The next two weeks the energy of the moon is waning and I find that my energy levels may also be waning so I know that this is the time to be kind to myself. It is a good time to get a massage, to build in some rest time, to add in some extra breaks etc.
When you discover this, and begin to live this way, you realise just how empowering it all is. This is why I run my coaching by the cycle of the moon. Whilst in some ways it is more restrictive as it means I can’t take on a client at just any time, it is worth it and it keeps me honest and true to me as well. I am so passionate about living by the moon. Now I know how important it is, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I teach my clients all of this and we go through all of what I have just said here, but in much more depth and detail. This empowers them with the information and skills they need to be able to carry this on.
I believe that sacred self-care is so important and that is one of the key things that working with the moon can really teach us. When we slow down, mindfully take the time to breathe, be present, and put ourselves first, that is when we can finally begin to hear what our souls are telling us, we can finally work out what makes us happy. What is missing from our lives. It took me two significant breakdowns to learn this lesson. I would rather others didn’t have to go through what I did in order to discover this. If I can help women before they get to that stage, and show them how the Moon can help them with this then all the better.
From June I begin running Full Moon Sister Circles which I can’t wait to start offering. This is going to be incredibly empowering. To have 15 women (plus me) in a circle, holding space, sharing, releasing, all in the presence of Goddess with the energy of the Full Moon. Can you imagine how powerful that will feel? I would love to offer New Moon circles too but I do need to think about my energy levels and just how much I can fit in but it is worth thinking about for the future.
The Sacred Moon Ceremonies are a wonderful way for clients to work with the energies of the moon and to receive healing at the same time. They are intimate, powerful and again so beneficial for their mental health and wellbeing. I love the fact that every time I finish one, I always leave my clients smiling and in such a better place emotionally. That is what the moon can do when we work with her.
My hope is that once I have completed my Priestess training, then I will be able to offer more services using the Moon to support personal development, transformation and healing.
What role does meditation play in your life and in that of those you work with?
Meditation has been so important to me although it is something that I only really discovered properly and got into over the last few years. Now, I wouldn’t be without it. It is funny, I am a big believer in that we find our true path at the right time for us, I just didn’t discover my spiritual path until I was in my mid/late 40’s.
I meditate at least twice a day, sometimes more. I don’t often have the time for a long one hour meditation but I am okay with that. I make time for around 20 minutes in the morning and the same in the evening. Depending on my diary, I try to make space for another 10 minutes in the middle of the day but if I can’t do a traditional meditation, I like to walk barefoot in my garden so I will ground myself that way, usually with a crystal or two in my hands. This is another form of meditation and feels so lovely.
Meditation has been so beneficial for my mental health too. I don’t have anywhere near the number of panic attacks that I used to have and now, if I feel my anxiety start to rise, I focus on my breath and I am able to bring it under control much easier and quicker. I wish meditation could be taught as part of recovery for depression and anxiety as I believe it could help so many people.
I spend a lot of my time writing meditations for clients or my classes and will often go into a bit of a meditative state myself when reading them out.
I also like to practice a body scan which is a mindfulness practice that I highly recommend to everyone. After all, how often do we actually check in with ourselves and tune in to how we are feeling?
When I first started doing this, I found it incredibly overwhelming. I have Fibromyalgia and it really made me aware of just how much pain I was feeling in my body which was incredibly hard to deal with. Now I find it really useful too, just to acknowledge how I am feeling, to recognise where I need to show myself some kindness and compassion towards myself. I use it as a tool to help me recognise when I need to slow down a bit too.
I love the fact that although I tend to work on my own, I mix with people who generally, like me, enjoy and practice meditation so it can be nice to share experiences and practices etc.
I love teaching meditation, breaking down all the myths around meditation and the beliefs that you have to be able to sit in the lotus position for an hour without a thought in your head for an hour for example. I want to make meditation accessible to everyone which is why I teach it seated in chairs.
As a Law of Attraction Practitioner, how do you guide and support individuals in manifesting their desires and creating a life aligned with their intentions? What principles or techniques do you find most effective in working with the Law of Attraction?
I love being a Law of Attraction Practitioner although sometimes you do have to manage expectations. By that I mean there is no magic formula and there is no quick fix. I can’t help you win the lottery for example. I am still a work in progress. I believe 101% that I am working towards and will achieve my goals. Some of them I already have manifested and achieved.
I always tell my clients that the law of attraction will work but that they have to put the work in and they may have to be realistic in terms of timescales. It requires self-belief and hard work. Sadly, things don’t work by magic but you know what, that is okay, it is all part of the journey. If we just jumped straight to the destination, what would we have learnt? We have to work through any blocks that may be holding them back, even subconsciously but there is no reason why they cannot achieve whatever they want. I believe it is important to dream big, to not set a limit. Don’t be afraid and don’t think small. You are allowed to go after whatever you want as long as what you want is set with the highest intentions for good and not greed. We are allowed to be abundant; it is our birthright, it is there for us to claim. We just have to put the work in, be clear on what it is we want and ask the universe and Goddess to help us. They will support us all the way.
I believe, the most important thing to remember when it comes to the Law of Attraction is that like attracts like. The Universe is like a mirror. What we give out is what we attract. Therefore, it is really important that we focus on our vibration, our energy and try as much as possible to keep it high and positive. So, for example, if we are in a bad mood, or putting out low energy, or negative energy, then that is what we are going to attract. For example, we overslept so are rushing, panicking and constantly tell ourselves we are going to be late. So, in our rush, we knock things over, spill something down our outfit so have to change, making ourselves more late, stub our toe on the table rushing to find our shoes, can’t find the keys that we didn’t put away last night, need I go on. Whereas, if we had woken up late, accepted it, breathed, just calmly got ourselves ready, we wouldn’t have done any of those things and so probably would have been okay.
Another example, which is an example I used in a workshop I just recently gave about managing pain, if we constantly tell ourselves ‘I am in so much pain today’ the Universe is going to hear you and so send you more pain. We need to be raising our vibration, focusing on the good. I love practicing gratitude, using affirmations and these are tools that I use with my clients.
It isn’t going to be possible to keep our vibration high all the time but there are ways we can help ourselves. One way that can drag our vibration down is how we respond negatively to a situation, for example with anger, frustration, upset.
In these cases I help my clients to look at how they react to different situations and to see if there are strategies that they could employ to help them find alternative methods that may be more positive and constructive. Sometimes we need to learn to hit the pause button, breathe and just think before we react. Sometimes we need to see things from a different perspective or viewpoint before jumping. Choosing how we react can be incredibly empowering.
I also teach my clients the importance of practicing gratitude every day. Making a daily practice of finding between 3 and 5 things to be grateful for, no matter how small, is really beneficial.
Affirmations are really powerful, and I love using them. I teach my clients how to create and use affirmations. I also suggest which crystals they could use to help them, to hold whilst saying their affirmations. For example, Amazonite is a really powerful crystal to use for affirmations.
I am a huge fan of vision boards. I love them. I have one in my office that I created a couple of years ago that is still relevant. Some of it I have manifested, some of it I am still working on. It is a huge inspiration to me. I did a vision board workshop in January which was a massive success and will be repeating it in January 2024 (did I really just say January 2024??).
I really like to do a visioning meditation too. I take my clients on a journey so they can see themselves where they want to be. I ask them to lose themselves within their imagination, just let themselves go. Allow any messages and visions to come forth. See themselves in the future, feel it, really lean into it. It is very powerful. It can help them release blocks.
Journalling is always a useful tool and something that I recommend highly to my clients. It is very beneficial and can help uncover blocks and areas of self-sabotage.
A general meditation is another really useful tool, with an intention set asking for clarity, guidance and wisdom on what it is that you want. Having a crystal with you to help you.
And of course, last but definitely not least, practicing the law of attraction with the Moon is just perfect as far as I am concerned. They work hand in hand. A match made in heaven, quite literally.
