After her own health struggles led her down the holistic path, she now helps others find their own path and improve their wellness with the help of HeartMath, Chakra Balancing, Reiki, Theta Healing, and other techniques. Lorna Lenigan from Heart Power Wellness was kind enough to have a chat with MysticMag about her work and share a few success stories.
Can you tell me what specific HeartMath techniques you use in your sessions?
In Heart Power Wellness, we love to use HeartMath techniques and technology to teach our clients how to activate and elevate the highest qualities of their hearts – such as Love, Compassion, Kindness, Peace, and Gratitude – while lowering negative feelings and emotions, such as sadness, anger, insecurity, and anxiety. Our most commonly used techniques are Heart-Focused Breathing, Heart Coherence, and Inner Ease.
How do Coaching and Mentoring with HeartMath Tools work in practice?
Our passion is to assist and encourage our clients to incorporate healthy new habits into their daily lives, to learn how to connect their hearts with their intelligence and intuition, and to create more heartfelt heart-based connections with themselves and their loved ones.
In practice, Heart-Focused breathing is a technique we use to turn down the volume of stress. It combines the simple act of focusing your attention toward your heart by breathing a little more deeply and slower than normal while imagining that you are breathing through your heart. We practice inhaling for 5 seconds, exhaling for 5 seconds, and continuing until a comfortable, rhythmic level of breathing has been obtained. During this breathing practice, we use the “EmWave 2” tool to measure the improvement of the heart rate variability and coherence level throughout the session.
Once we’ve practiced Heart-Focused Breathing, our next focus is on achieving Heart Coherence. This technique involves aligning our mind and emotions into a harmonious state in which we build resilience and accumulated energy, rather than wasting energy. Coherence is a high-performance and healthy state — physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually— that brings out the very best in us. This technique can be used anytime and anywhere, and you don’t have to wait to feel emotionally drained to use it. With sincere effort and a focus on positive emotions and feelings, most of our clients find that they can learn to create or experience regenerative feelings whenever and wherever they are desired (while involved in difficult situations, when driving, when out for a walk, before a big event, etc).
Finally, the Inner-Ease™ Technique creates an extra time window for deeper discernment and more competent and conscious choices that can help prevent and resolve many unnecessary challenges and unwanted predicaments. Having an attitude of inner ease can help us remember we don’t have to feed into daily drama or deplete our emotions with worry, fear, impatience, competition, hate, and judgment. Practicing the Inner-Ease™ Technique at the beginning of each day can help us to reduce mental and emotional static, which clouds clear thinking and our reasoning capacity. The Inner-Ease Technique helps us to prevent and eliminate much of our routine personal stress and to recoup faster after unexpected, stressful situations.

What is Chakra Balancing and how can it help a person?
The word Chakra in Sanskit literally means “wheel” and is used to describe seven unique energy centers that hold negative or positive energy. Each Chakra influences the organs, muscles, ligaments, veins, and all other body parts within the energy field.
Chakra Balancing is a deep healing technique that not only removes stagnant energy but also provides fresh, positive energy to restore balance and well-being. When a Chakra becomes blocked, damaged, or muddied with residual energy, our physical and emotional health is usually affected.
When your Chakras are open, balanced, and aligned, your physical body and life are healthy, happy, and balanced. When there is an imbalance or blockage, there will be a disturbance in your body or life. By healing the energetic centers of your body, your overall health will improve.

You are also a Reiki Master. Can you share some details about the benefits of Reiki?

In Reiki, positive energy flows into the body through the intentions and hands of the practitioner, thus helping to balance and heal the energy in the body.
Reiki induces deep relaxation, assists in the body’s natural healing processes, develops emotional and mental well-being, helps people cope with difficulties, and relieves stress. Reiki will help you to be healthier, happier and balanced.
Reiki channels healing energy from the hands of the Reiki therapist to the patient with the goal of reducing stress, pain, and fatigue while enhancing energy. How do you combine different services that you offer to get the best results?
We love to blend the modern science-based tools found in HeartMath with the Holistic and Spiritual techniques passed down through the ancient wisdom of Reiki, Chakra Balancing and Transcendental Meditation. Every client is unique so they will need different techniques and approaches. I analyze what will be the best approach for each of them. While HeartMath and Reiki might be better for one person, for example, another person might find more benefit from a combination of meditation and Chakra Balancing. We customize our treatment plans to maximize the benefits received by each person. We love to help our clients discover the most beautiful unique gifts, talents, and skills that are buried within them and to create new, healthier daily routines.

How do you measure success and can you share some success stories?
My idea of success is not about what we do or the possessions we accumulate in life. Success to me is to have a loving family, to be surrounded by supportive wonderful friends, to obtain inner peace, to be truly happy, to be able to do what we love to do, to help humanity, to find fulfilling careers, to cooperate with others, to be the best version of ourselves, and to help create a heart-centered world.
