Christina Malone is an astrologer based in the United States that offers consultations, astrological tune-ups, personality profiles and combines all of that with music. In this special interview for MysticMag we asked Christina about that interesting mix, misconceptions about Astrology and she also explains to us how we can connect religion, politics, science and medicine with the stars.

When did you discover that you could combine music and astrology and begin this journey you are on now?
My father loved star gazing, and pointed out Orion/Taurus/The Pleiades, and the Big Dipper to me when I was very young.
As a teenager, growing up in the 60s, I loved folk music, and began writing my own songs when I was 15, trying to imitate Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, and Bob Dylan.
At first, I just wrote poems, and then added my own music, or, I would drone a repetitive melody on my guitar, and then added words, so that many of my songs came out like chants, with my own intimate views of life and love.
I played the guitar, dulcimer, and a little bit of piano, and called myself a “New Age, Spiritual Folk Singer.” I performed in Student coffee houses, and weddings, in college.
I met my spiritual teacher, Swami “Baba” Muktananda, on January 13, 1975 in Gainesville, Fla. After almost dying in a car accident in January, 1978, I moved into Baba’s Ashram in Oakland, CA. I began writing songs for Baba, and performed with my sister Rama for him several times, while we traveled around with him for the next 4 years. We went to India in 1982, where he took Mahasamadhi, and left his body, in October 1982.
I returned to the United States in 1983 to become an assistant/secretary to a well-known songwriter, whom I met in the ashram.
I began exploring Astrology while I was living in the Ashram. In 1979, I had my first natal astrology reading with a Vedic astrologer named Chakrapani Ullal, who was Baba’s personal astrologer. You might say I was “bitten by the Astrology bug” from that moment on. I prefer Western Astrology over Eastern Vedic Astrology.
The first Astrology book I bought, which is still my favorite book, was “The Compleat Astrologer“ by Derek and Julia Parker. It was a coffee table book, and had lots of paintings and photographs, as well as so much history of Astrology in it. Alas, that particular 1972 publication is out of print.
What do you believe are the biggest misconceptions regarding astrology and the stars?
Some religious zealots consider it Evil, or “From The Devil.” I just tell him that Jesus gave us the Lord’s prayer, which is an Astrological prayer! He said, “Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven!” Heaven was then, and is now, the planets and the stars above, right? — Hello?
Other people think Astrology is some cheap “parlor game” or fake gypsy psychic work, and it is not really something you can use in your daily life.
I simply teach them about the Planetary Hours with my book “God’s Time”. Following the 7 planetary hours, day to day, using the link on my website home page, will prove to anyone that the planets do have an influence. In fact, the days of the week were all named in Latin after the 7 visible planets!
The more I study Astrology, the more profound and deeper it becomes in helping me to navigate this life. I consider myself a perpetual student of Astrology, even though I have been studying it in actual classes for over 40 years!
Even common expressions, like “History repeats Itself” and “What goes around, comes around” are based on Astrology! Through observation and correlation, Astrology itself reveals how Powerful the Planets and Stars can be!
When I began to observe the movement of the planets, the phases of the Moon, and especially the Mercury Retrogrades—I saw the effects and influence they had, and continue to have, on us here below, and how they have caused significant leaps in human evolution.
How does your consultations work?
I introduce clients to the magic of Astrology by beginning with a basic natal chart reading. I cover all of the planets, signs, and houses that are particularly unique and significant to the client, and their soul’s journey, by looking at their own birth chart. This is based on the Date of birth, Time of birth, and Place of birth.
If you don’t have your time of birth, I will try to do a rectification to get close to it. I appreciate a little more money for the time I spend on that. But most people can ask their parents or find their birth certificate to get the time of birth.
When someone reaches you and asks you for a Natal Chart and a reading, what are the reactions you often see? Is it surprise with the results that show up, validation?
Absolutely! This is the greatest joy of giving a reading — to see someone light up with a first time recognition, as if they are seeing their true self, and their life mission, and their unique qualities, for the first time. Once they see how special they are, they can see other human beings in the same light, and it gives them a different perspective of the world at large.
I always say a short prayer before I begin the reading, and I say for the client’s private recording “Astrology is the Art and Science of Self-Awareness and Life Mastery. Because, as you come to know yourself, as you truly are, as God made you, then you become a Master of your own life”.
You also believe that a chart reading can reveal your health challenges. In your years of experience, which health challenges appeared and what cell salts are there?
On my website (musicalastrologer.com) there is a Health page, which shows a man inside the natural Zodiac wheel.
Every part of his body touches a particular sign and house, and also reveals which homeopathic tissue cellular salt mineral is connected with that part of the body / or that ailment.
For example, if someone has a migraine headache, I immediately look at their first house, which is where the man’s head is located in the wheel.
The first house in the natural zodiac is ruled by Aries, so Aries rules the head, and therefore the solution for the headache would be the cell salt for Aries, which is Kali Phos.
We are living in challenging times, with the pandemic, wars, and economic struggles. Do you have some advice for our audience on how to keep motivated and fighting?
History is filled with pandemics, wars, and economic strife. It is interesting to see how everything has been affected by the stars – – religion, politics, science and medicine. If you follow history, especially when the discovery of the outer planets began in the 1700s, with the discovery of Uranus, the whole human experience shifted towards electricity, community, and revolution.
Then with Neptune in the 1800s, there was an expansion of spirituality and Eastern philosophy, as well as the women’s suffrage movement, and the development of film.
Then in the 20th century, in 1932, the atom was split for the first time, releasing enormous power, and the Atomic Age began. This is also when the planet Pluto was discovered. Carl Jung, the father of modern psychology was also an Astrologer, and from that point on, we began to explore the inner workings of the mind.
That is proof that the outer planets, once they enter human consciousness, had a great effect on the evolutionary leap of human beings.
What used to take years to transmit information across the globe, usually by written word, now takes seconds!
What used to take years for human beings to learn, just studying with books, now takes a matter of days, or weeks, and is downloaded into the subconscious mind, just by being in the presence of a powerful, SHAMAN, TEACHER, or GURU, who has mastered what they are teaching!
In the future, especially while living in the 2,000 year Aquarian Age we are now in, Astrology will play an important role, just as it did thousands of years ago. One’s own birth chart will become a powerful tool for improved living, as well as a great source of knowledge on how to navigate this earthly plane of existence!
