This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Nur Ray, a prominent Reiki Master. We talked about her beginnings, how can Reiki affect a client’s life, and what can a person expect from her therapies.
When did you first know that being a Reiki Healer was your calling and how did it come about?
First of all, I will explain what Reiki is. Reiki has 100 years old history. During the early 1920s, Usui did a 21-day practice on Mount Kurama called the discipline of prayer. Common belief dictates that during these 21 days, Usui developed Reiki. Dr. Mikao Usui trained many of your disciples as Reiki Masters. Finally, Reiki was brought to the West by Mrs. Takata, a Reiki Master.
The term “reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki ( Qi, Chi),” which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things.
The idea is that a Reiki practitioner uses gentle touch — or places their hands just above your body — to help guide this energy in a way that promotes balance and healing, activates the natural healing processes of the patient’s body, and restores physical and emotional well-being.
My healing journey started by being qualified as a spiritual healer. Many years later, I decided to become a Reiki healer. I have been hearing the word Reiki, and I just wanted to learn more about it. After I made some queries, finally I met my Reiki teacher. I first become a Reiki level 1 practitioner and then Reiki level 2. I am now Reiki Master with so many experiences with another great master.
My best client was my mum. Each time I stayed with her, I gave her healing whenever needed. Every morning after having breakfast, I remember she waited for me to receive healing. She didn’t believe it, but she was so amazed when she started seeing the results. She had Parkinson’s, heart issues, hearing problems, and many others. Treatments helped her hear better, stopped her hands from shaking, walked better, ate better, and felt better.
I use Reiki healing for people who live in the distance too. The outcome has always been excellent. Lifeforce energy is the essence of life that flows through all living things. It can be measured in humans’ and animals’ overall vitality through their heartbeat, brain waves, blood circulation, and breath.
I am inspired, astonished, and believed in Reiki’s healing results in humans and animals; since the results were so excellent, I will continue giving healing till the end.

How can Reiki improve one’s mental, emotional, and physical wellness?
First of all, we need to understand the importance of our thoughts and how we speak to ourselves. What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us. Everyone, including myself, is responsible for everything in our lives, the best and the worst. Every thought creates our feelings. The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experience.
We don’t always realize that we are giving our power away. We create any situation that we find ourselves in. However, if a problem is involved blaming others just because we are frustrated. As a result, the body goes into a flight or fight situation. Being in fight-or-flight mode triggers the release of stress hormones and other physiological changes that can be damaging if experienced constantly.
Reiki increase collagen level in the body and the body releases the hormones such as serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins which are famously happy hormones that promote positive feelings like pleasure, happiness, and even love. Hormones and neurotransmitters are involved in lots of essential processes, like heart rate and digestion, but also your mood and feelings. We all need to remember that no person, no place, and nothing has any power over us; we are the only thinkers in it. When we create peace, harmony, and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.
Reiki is a complementary healing therapy that helps the energy flows through your body smoothly.
Reiki shifts your body’s stress response from its “fight-or-flight” state to a more restful state during and immediately after the session, which is better for your well-being and your health in the long run. Then, once your body is less stressed, it can better heal itself.
Reiki promotes relaxation and reduces stress, anxiety, and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being.
Reiki helps with mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Cardiovascular disease, including heart disease, high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, heart attacks, and strokes. Reiki fosters tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery. It supports the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and kidney dialysis.
Studies show that reiki treatment may create feelings of peace, relaxation, security, and wellness.
We also heard that you work on emotional healing as an Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner. Could you please provide some insight into this technique?
I genuinely love the emotional freedom technique. It helped me to release my emotions layer by layer. I use it daily to relieve any stress issues I may be experiencing. There is always a relief after that.
What is an emotional healing technique?
It is a tapping therapy that works on energy meridians. It helps ease anxiety and depression and deal with overwhelm and uncertainty. This technique is also physicoligal accuperssure. By tapping on specific acupuncture points on the body, we are tapping into the life force energy to deal with emotional and physical pain. It also changes our energy vortex so we feel worthy and deserving and more aligned with love, joy, abundance, and capability.
Tapping is an excellent tool for personal change — ideal for anxiety and stress and supporting goals and dreams.
Transforming our lives uses the Mind’s power to re-create our lives by freeing us from uncooperative feelings and beliefs. The vital thing to achieve in life is to remain authentic and to be creative. We lose ourselves in life issues. Worry, disappointments, anger, frustration, and anxiety total up, and you may suffer from stress. Plus, fear finds a prominent place to accommodate in your Mind and starts playing tricky games. If you ignore the power of the Mind, fear goes into every cell and organ and starts using your body and Mind as a nibble. When you find yourself in this situation, you are already suffering from headaches, aches, and pains, if not from significant health issues.
When we are stressed, our sympathetic nervous system gets disrupted. A part of our brain — the amygdala — goes into fight or flight. This natural instinct is meant to help us survive and protect us from physical danger. Over time our bodies build up tension from these low-grade fight or flight responses. That disturbing energy gets retained in the body.
1 Your heart rate and blood pressure increase.
2 You’re pale or have flushed skin.
3 Blunt pain response is compromised.
4 Dilated pupils.
5 You’re on edge.
6 Memories can be affected.
7 You’re tense or trembling.
8 Your bladder might be affected.
What can a person expect from your therapies?
The clients receive my full attention to be healed as much as they allow to be healed. I also provide after-care advice and I follow up either by e-mail or by phone.
Feelings are relaxed, joyful, pain relief, freedom from incorporated feelings, and a changed mindset.
Clients become better at using the information provided by adaptive emotions. Also, clients may be better able to cope with and decrease the adverse effects of maladaptive emotions.
Every effort is spent for them to become the best in themselves.
What do you love most about your profession?
What do I love the most? I love it as a whole, apart from the paperwork!
Interacting with people, listening to their stories, working with them as long they allow me to do so, seeing the change in them, seeing the smile on their faces, walking away with a new thought, with a new challenge which they think they could deal with. I observe that they are getting closer to finding the best in themselves after each treatment is fascinating for me. It gives me the courage to continue doing what I do.
