This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Psychic Medium Kelly Palmatier. We discussed her beginnings, what are topics are her clients most interested in, and what she loves most about her profession.
When did you first know that being a psychic medium was your calling and how did it come about?
I’ve been psychic since birth. I had little things happen to me as I was growing up. Then, when I was in high school and college, I actively worked on developing my skills. I did psychic readings for family and friends for decades. However, it was in 2017 that I had a real breakthrough. I was sitting at the base of a waterfall meditating and asking my Spirit Guides for direction when I got a direct message telling me to become a professional medium. I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love and help people.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
The two main services I offer are psychic readings and mediumship readings.
The psychic readings are great for getting guidance on what’s going on in one’s life, and people are often interested in insight regarding their careers, their love lives, and the best purpose for their lives. Typically, psychic readings give people a sense of clarity and inspiration.
The mediumship readings are ideal for when someone is really missing a loved one in Spirit and wants to make sure they’re okay. I’m an evidential medium, so I pick up on details to validate who’s coming through. These sessions usually bring people a sense of inner peace and closure.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
I have to be well-rested and relaxed in order to get the best results, of course. And I will say that it’s true that the client’s energy can definitely affect the reading. If a client is judgmental or closed off, that can bring the vibration down, making it harder to get strong results. Clients who are open-minded really help raise the vibration and obtain the best results.
Some of the psychic sessions are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
Fortunately, I had already been doing remote readings for years when the pandemic hit, so it was no problem to switch to doing readings exclusively on phone, FaceTime, Skype, and Zoom during lock-down.
After months went by and it became obvious the pandemic would be with us a while, I moved to a different office here in Asheville, North Carolina where I could set things up to be COVID-safe.
I now have a six-foot table where I do readings, and it has a large plexiglass shield above it. I also set up a HEPA air filtration with virus-killing UV light.
In this field, it is often thought that word-of-mouth and personal recommendations are the most important when picking a psychic reader – is this true?
Word of mouth is definitely helpful, but there are so many great review sites as well. Even though we all know reviews can be faked, and there will always be outliers who love something that’s terrible or hate something that’s great, most savvy consumers can read between the lines. And if you see enough reviews across a variety of review sites, and all the reviews have unique content that includes details, that’s really validating.
Even though I get a lot of repeat clients and clients referred by others, Google is still currently my number one source of clients, and I believe that has something to do with all the great reviews my loyal clients have left me.
What do you love most about your profession?
I definitely love what I call The Coolness Factor – it still delights me when I get exact names or other strong psychic hits, but I have to say the thing I love the most is knowing I’m making a positive impact on the lives of so many people.
When I got that direct message from Spirit telling me to become a professional psychic medium, it was because I was asking what I could do to help others that I wasn’t already doing. I listened to Spirit, and that has made all the difference.
