When did you first know that Energy Healing was your calling and how did it come about?
Whilst I was training to become a Clinical Psychologist, I began learning Reiki as a self-care tool. I had initially just been looking for something that would help me to take better care of myself during stressful or demanding times but I fell in love with Reiki so decided to continue with the more advanced training.
I was also fortunate to know some very skilled energy healers who I began learning some other techniques with. I increasingly felt that by working solely as a Clinical Psychologist I was essentially shortchanging my clients as I was developing a range of healing skills that I couldn’t then use. It was at this time that I decided to set up my Natural Healing Energy practice so I could combine my full range of skills and experience.
The ability to heal, like many things, is a combination of natural ability, learning, and experience. For me, it wasn’t something I ‘always knew’ I wanted to do, but something I discovered I had some ability to do. Alongside teaching classes, it has come to feel very much like a calling rather than a job.
What services do you offer?
I offer one-to-one healing treatments, these are usually either Reiki alone – for more general relaxation and day-to-day stresses or some of the more advanced healing methods I use. My background as a psychologist, alongside my healing skills, means I can offer people help with quite a wide range of problems.
During the pandemic, I developed a method of working online, which I call supportive counseling. This involves some focus on the energy system, although this is much more limited than what I am able to do in person, alongside counseling and various visualization techniques to help people release and rebalance. I have continued to offer these sessions. Now I am able to see clients face to face again as they work so well, particularly when people are not located near to my offices.
In addition to individual treatments, I also teach meditation and all levels of Reiki training and occasionally offer wellbeing sessions to corporate groups. I love teaching and my classes are a mixture of online and in person.
What is “Applied Energy Flow”? And how would you describe the Honey Healing Method?
Applied Energy Flow involves ‘applying’ different vibrations of healing energies to the natural flow of energy in a person’s body. I always incorporate some Reiki in these sessions as it is such a wonderfully relaxing and balancing energy.
I work with different parts of the person’s energy system to help them to function as best they can. Depending on what the person wants and needs I can include some talking within these sessions, this is similar to counseling but involves focusing on the emotions of whatever the person is talking about with a view to helping that energy release. It is important when healing to help a person’s mind accept changes that are happening.
The Honey Healing Method is a therapy aimed at deep emotional and energetic release and clearance with minimal need to talk.
What can a person expect from your healing sessions?
On a practical level, people can expect a short consultation to establish what they are seeking help with followed by some time on the couch. Depending on what a person wants or needs they may find it a quiet restful session or a more interactive one.
I will always do my best to listen to what they need and support them to feel understood and in charge of the sessions. People generally feel more relaxed and balanced after treatment, in a way I am helping people to become more themselves.
What is the most important detail in maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with customers?
Straightforward honesty and good communication. I am always very clear about my emphasis on confidentiality and respecting that people will share what they need and want in their own time. Only the person themselves can ever truly know what is best for them to do. I can offer suggestions or ideas to try but I believe my clients should always be in control.
What is the best part of your job?
Seeing big smiles on my clients’ faces when they realize what huge changes they have made and when they talk about how they have transformed their lives, often in ways they didn’t believe was possible.
Ultimately this is work that people do themselves but it is wonderful to play a small part in supporting them. My other favorite thing is when I teach Reiki and know that people are going away from those classes with a way to take better care of themselves for the rest of their lives.
