This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Vicki Monroe, one of the world’s leading psychic mediums whose gifts go far beyond basic spirit messaging to include spiritual counseling, health and wellness counseling, criminal cold case investigation, and more.
What inspired you to start your psychic reading business, and how did your career develop?
Nothing inspired me to do psychic readings really. I was born with the ability to see and hear them, so I have always considered myself more a Spirit Messenger than a psychic although that genre has been a big player for me as the years have gone by. I started doing in-person sessions around 1999 and then worked in radio for ten years after that and that started a cult-like following that took me all over the world doing lectures and readings as well as investigations into unexplained phenomena.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
Most people come to me to hear from loved ones in Spirit, and because I have a kind of doorway for them it is fairly easy to give them the information they need. I always encourage my clients to maintain a very open mind. I cannot guarantee who will come through but whoever does come with love and understanding, even if they were not so in life. A soul is a perfect being. It is not capable of dark and heinous ways. That is the human side when it chooses to not listen to our spiritual self.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
Some readings can be more difficult when the client is not open. I have had a client and her husband standing with me in front of an audience of 400 people, and when I ask whom a certain person is that is living, the wife would just shake her head, she didn’t know that person, and her husband standing right next to her, whom I might add didn’t want to come to the show, says “That’s our 8-year-old son at home right now!” Blocking such as this can be difficult, and validations are often lost on them.
Some of the psychic sessions are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
Actually, the only thing that has affected me from the pandemic is my in-person sessions. I did Zoom sessions and phone during that time and have resumed my in-person sessions now since March.
What can a person expect from a reading?
A person can expect to hear from not just one or two loved ones but pets, and friends, as well as validations of what is happening in their lives right now. I have read people and told them what they were talking about in the car on their ride to my office. Spirit is always around and keeps watch in a loving and fun way.
Should you see something bad in someone’s future, how do you go about dealing with that situation?
I do not predict the future. That was written by us, each and every one of us has a plan, map, blueprint that we create before we arrive here. On the map is all that needs to be done that we chose. We look back on all the lives we have lived and see what needs to be done, what needs to be repeated or changed. Then at birth, the real challenge begins as we are from the moment we arrive what to think, how to be, and what to say. No one is born hating, or racist, violent, or dark. We are taught these things, and that is the mission I have created for myself. To help people come back to their true self, to listen to spirit. We are loving, compassionate, hopeful, nonjudgmental, and understanding. We are just taught differently. We can get that back.
What do you love most about your profession?
I love my job because I have helped many people know that this is a short stay, make the most of it, be kind, not just to yourself, but to others, it costs you nothing. Be easier on yourself. Listen to your instincts, that is spirit speaking, and watch for the signs of your loved ones in spirit, they are closer than ever. No one is ever left, it is just a temporary time when we learn to live without them until we are reunited.
