Whether we like it or not, the movement of the planets and stars have a strong influence over our emotions, moods – even our actions and life paths are affected. Knowing when and how cosmic events such as super moons, eclipses, conjunctions, and meteor showers can affect us can help us to better prepare for what might happen.
Read on to discover what you should watch out for in 2021 and the opportune times to consult with an astrologer about your next moves.
March 9th & 10th: Quadruple Conjunction
If you happen to be looking at the sky before the sun rises on March 9th and 10th, you’ll be able to see a striking quadruple conjunction. A conjunction occurs when two planets come together in the sky.
On these early mornings, you’ll be able to witness the coming together of not two, but three planets. Mercury, Saturn, and Jupiter will form a perfect line, with all three planets visible to the naked eye. And if you look below this line, you’ll also see the crescent moon to the right.
A conjunction is one of the best times to release old habits that no longer serve you, making room for new people and experiences to enter your life.
April 27th: Full Moon, Supermoon
This will be the first of three supermoons set to occur in 2021. On the night of April 27th, the full moon will be at its closest to the Earth, making it look bigger and brighter than normal. Since the moon plays a significant role in the flow of our emotions and it intensifies energies, it will be important to be aware of the major events happening in your life. Any rash or hurried decisions may cause more harm than good.
If you can’t decide whether you should take a specific action, rather consult with an Astrologer on Keen Psychics (The first 5 minutes of your reading are $1).
May 26th: Full Moon, Supermoon, Total Lunar Eclipse
This will be the second supermoon of 2021, and the only total lunar eclipse of the year. While the full moon intensifies emotions, the total lunar eclipse adds a very different effect. As the sun, earth, and moon all lineup, the earth passes in between the sun and moon, casting a shadow on the moon’s usual white face. This produces that blood-red color that we see in the sky.
This unique shadow is known to bring deep-seated emotions to the surface. However, it can also help clear them away. This moment will mark a time of transformation and forward movement along your spiritual journey.
June 10th: Annular Solar Eclipse
During a solar eclipse, there is alignment with the moon, sun, and earth, with the moon moving between the earth and the sun. However, eclipse on June 10th will not be a total solar eclipse. This is because the moon will be positioned at a distance from the sun, not insufficient to completely block it out. Due to the moon appearing smaller than the sun, a phenomenon known as a “ring of fire” will be appear around the moon, creating the impression that the sun is engulfing it.
The path of this eclipse will be visible only in the extreme eastern parts of Canada, western Greenland, and Russia. Those in the northeastern part of the United States, Europe, and most of Russia will be able to witness a partial eclipse.
Regardless of the view you’ll have, a solar eclipse represents a time of change and unexpected opportunities. Because the moon also dictates our emotional state, its passing in front of the sun indicates that changes will start from within before manifesting in our external world.
June 24th: Full Moon, Supermoon
This will be the third and final supermoon of 2021 and similar to the others, the moon’s location will be very close to earth, causing it to appear larger and more brilliant than usual. Again, it will be important to remain aware of your heightened emotional state, as it may cause you to make decisions that could lead to regret later on.
If you find yourself feeling confused during this time, rather consult with an experienced astrologer on a site such as Keen Psychics to find out how you can better navigate the supermoon.
August 2nd: Saturn at Opposition
An opposition occurs when the Earth’s path passes between the sun and an outer planet. This makes that planet visible to us on Earth, with it rising in the sky once the sun has set. On August 2nd, Saturn will be at opposition with the Earth, making it visible in the sky throughout the night. For those of you out there with telescopes, this is the best time to take pictures of the planet and its moons.
In ancient times, Saturn’s presence signaled a time of calamity for people. But actually, we now know that the planet signals a time of change. It makes sense that the ancients might confuse changes with devastation, but they don’t have to be. Be aware of the major events in your life leading up to this date and be prepared for shifts that might take place.
August 12th & 13th: Perseids Meteor Shower
The Perseids meteor shower, one of the most brilliant meteor showers, occurs from July 17th to August 24th with peak observation on the nights of August 12th and 13th. At the peak, as many as 60 meteors per hour can be observed. The crescent phase of the moon will result in a darker sky, thus providing great visibility for this event.
Meteor showers are a positive event for all signs, as they represent a rising from the ashes. As the meteors collide with the atmosphere and produce bright bursts, it symbolizes new ideas, hopes, and changes for us. If you get the chance to observe this brilliant shower, expect to walk away feeling re-energized and full of hope for what’s to come.
August 18th: Close Conjunction of Mars and Mercury
On this day Mars and Mercury will share the same right ascension in the sky. With Mercury representing the messenger and Mars action, this will be a time of vocal action for many. You may find that thoughts that have remained under wraps and below the surface will suddenly come out. Despite popular opinion, such confrontation can be a necessary and helpful step towards resolving conflict.
However, if you’re feeling unsure about your situation, it’s always best to consult with a trusted astrologer first. PathForward has a good selection of astrologists and rates start as low as $0.83 per minute.
August 19th: Jupiter at Opposition
On this night Jupiter will be in its closest position to the Earth and will be fully illuminated by the sun. At night, you’ll be able to see it shining in the sky and can use a telescope to see its four moons.
For those who are strong-willed and outspoken, you may feel overly confident and ambitious at this time. If this resonates with you, try to keep yourself grounded. And if this is someone you love, forgive them for their overexcitement or pressure to act. Help them stay balanced and rational until Jupiter moves away again.
September 14th: Neptune at Opposition
During this time Neptune will be at its closest to the Earth and illuminated by the sun. It will not be as visible as the other planets when they’re in opposition since it is much further away. The naked eye may only be able to make out a small blue dot, if anything at all.
Nevertheless, this event can strongly impact your feelings of insecurity, doubt, or confusion. It’s best to avoid making serious decisions at this time and instead wait until your confidence and certainty return.
December 4th: Total Solar Eclipse
Total solar eclipses are a true wonder to see. Unfortunately, the path of totality of this one will only be visible to Antarctica and the southern Atlantic Ocean. However, that doesn’t mean that its effects won’t be felt by everyone. Total solar eclipses mark a new beginning, often in ways we least expect. And since it will be towards the end of 2021, it will be an important time for reevaluation and change. Don’t wait until the new year to capitalize on this energy.
December 13th & 14th: Geminids Meteor Shower
The Geminids meteor shower is historically an even more impressive show than the Perseids meteor shower. This event is considered the best shower you can witness in the sky, with as many as 120 meteors colliding with the atmosphere per hour. Unfortunately, the light from the nearly full moon will drown out much of the splendor, but after midnight in a dark location, you should still be able to witness some of it. Just like the Perseids meteor shower, this will be a time of renewed hope, energy, and positive transitions.
We never quite know how cosmic events such as these might affect us, especially because there are so many other factors at play. If at any time you need some additional guidance to make these events more relevant to you, consult with a trusted astrologer on one MysticMag’s most recommended sites.
